We have borrowed this presentation so that you, dear reader, can try the experience. It may be particularly salutary for those who are a little awestruck by some of the longer novels...

Read the book when you've seen the film
It looks as if we are heading for a long period by the fireside this winter, so we at Good in Parts are leaning towards selecting more cosy, more happy, more amusing (even funny) books to suit indoor readers. They may also come into the category of Books That I Thought I Had Read (But Perhaps Didn't) and Books That I Read So Long Ago That I Can't Remember Everything That Happened. This policy started with The Secret Garden, and will continue later this month with Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, and Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre.
